The Business

Historic Winery Bosco Nestore

“Making wines that speak of our land, Abruzzo, since 1897”.

We are based in Nocciano, in the province of Pescara. Thanks to the founder Giovanni Bosco, our family has been making wines for more than a century.

History is deeply rooted into the culture of this region and has always played a major role in our business vision, but was never a limit to our strive for innovation. Today it is us, Nestore and Stefania, who lead the company, assisted by our young children who are proudly taking the first steps in the family business.

Our company, also certified organic since in 2018, is based on four elements: Sustainability of production, Safety in ensuring the chain of production, Health of consumers and the Simplicity to stay away from excesses.

The Land

Love for our origins

In the beginning, in 1897, the Historic Bosco Winery was seated on the hills of Pescara. Then, in 1983 we moved to Nocciano, an inspiring and embracing place that protects our Winery, with the Maiella massif – recently named a UNESCO Global Geopark – on one side and the Gran Sasso on the other. Our vineyards are surrounded by the gorgeous hills of Pescara’s hinterland and a microclimate influenced by the sea breeze. These unspoiled places have become a must-see for those who want to discover a bit of the winemaking history of this region.

“Our wines cherish all the perfumes and features that this wonderful land gives us”.

The passion that makes us unique

The Winery

Technologies 4.0

Our Winery employs the latest state-of-the-art winemaking technology. It is the combination of past and future that generates our wines.

The Museum

Nestore jr., who is passionate for antiques, set up an ethno-anthropological museum inside the long tunnel amidst the wines, with artifacts dating as back as to the late 800s.

The Tunnels

Our cellars are a gem of underground architecture, where perfectly aligned bottles rest among large Slavonian oak barrels, small barriques and recesses.

Ageing

Montepulciano d’Abruzzo is the pride of our family and production. Not just Montepulciano d’Abruzzo-based wines rest in the cellar, but also our whites.

Our Wines

Authenticity, identity and innovation

We make our wines following the traditions passed on to us by our ancestors, while still incorporating technology and innovations.
The production is sustainable and ethical as we wish to leave our children a better environment than the one we have“.

For sure Montepulciano is the jewel in the crown of our production, the signature grape variety of this region. Along with the reds, our range features the Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo and some remarkable, multiple award-winning whites: Chardonnay, Pecorino and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo. Our wines are eclectic and fit for every occasion, as they truly express the spirit of where we live.
